Family Sundays at Countryside Christian Church

What is Family Sunday?

Family Sundays happen whenever there is a fifth Sunday in the month! On these special Sundays, kids in Pre-K (ages 4) through 5th grade join their parents in the main 10:00 AM worship service for a time of worship, learning, and growing together as a church family. Nursery and preschool classes are still available for ages 0-3.

Why Family Sunday?

At Countryside Christian Church, we believe in the importance of families worshiping together. Family Sunday is designed to:
✅ Help kids experience worship with the whole church body.
✅ Give parents the opportunity to model worship and engagement in a service.
✅ Encourage meaningful faith conversations at home.
✅ Remind kids that they are an essential part of the church community.

Making Family Sunday a Great Experience!

We know that attending a full service with younger children can feel like a challenge, but here are some ways to make it meaningful and enjoyable for your family:

  • Let Kids Help Pick a Seat: Sit where your family will feel comfortable, and let your kids have a say—it helps them feel involved!

  • Pick Up a Kid’s Activity Packet: Each child will receive a packet with crayons, activities, and a page for taking notes to help them stay engaged during the service.

  • Use the Family Room (If Needed): A Family Room is available in the lobby, offering a space where parents can take little ones while still watching the service.

  • Help Kids Follow Along in the Bible: Bring a Bible for your child and show them how to find the key scripture passages during the message.

  • Encourage Engagement Over Screens: To keep the focus on worship, encourage kids to participate in the service rather than relying on a device.

  • Prepare Ahead of Time: Talk to your child beforehand about what to expect and why Family Sunday is special.

  • Engage in Worship: Encourage your kids to sing, pray, and listen along.

  • Take Notes Together: Help your child jot down key points or draw something related to the message.

  • Follow Up at Home: After the service, ask your child about their favorite part and what they learned.

  • Offer Grace: It’s okay if kids whisper questions or wiggle a little—it’s all part of learning to worship as a family!

We’re excited to celebrate Family Sunday with you and your children. See you on the next fifth Sunday!
